  222. This procedure is typically invoked when a Tcl error occurs during
  223. ``background processing'' such as executing a Tcl command in response
  224. to a button press or menu entry invocation.
  225. When such an error occurs, the error condition is reported to Tk
  226. or to a widget or some other C code, and there is not usually any
  227. obvious way for that code to report the error to the user.
  228. In these cases the code calls \fBTk_BackgroundError\fR with an
  229. \fIinterp\fR argument identifying the interpreter in which the
  230. error occurred.
  231. \fBTk_BackgroundError\fR attempts to invoke the \fBtkerror\fR
  232. Tcl command to report the error in an application-specific fashion.
  233. If no \fBtkerror\fR command exists, or if it returns with an error condition,
  234. then \fBTk_BackgroundError\fR reports the error itself by printing
  235. a message on the standard error file.
